BEGINNING OIL PAINTING
A six-week class for adults

Materials fee $60
This is an adult beginners’ class. Learn the basics
of color, values, composition, sketching, observation and
paint application as you complete a canvas from start to finish.

FELTING–THE WONDER OF
WOOL
A six-week class for ages 12 and up

Materials fee $40 (This will cover materials and tools.)
Learn about the wonders of wool by making some felted pieces.
Starting with a 20 piece, we will learn the basics of wet
felting. We will progress to 30 items. Needle felting sculptures
will be experimented with and then the two techniques will
be combined. The options are wide open. You choose what you
would like to do, and get help realizing your dreams.

LET’S SEW A HAPPI COAT!
For middle school students, younger by permission of teacher

Materials fee additional (for approximately 2 ½ yards
of cloth)
We will make a Japanese coat. For a change of pace, we will
dip into other traditional arts: origami, tea ceremony, calligraphy
and food.

CALLIGRAPHY: DRAW YOUR PASSION!
For high school students and adults, younger by permission

Materials fee $5-$15
This workshop will include a short review of strokes, practice
of a spring haiku or an individual project, and a presentation
in the form of a scroll, plaque or book. We will conclude
with assembling and eating some sushi, a vegetarian roll-up
called kappa maki.

FLORAL DESIGN AND ARRANGING
Two workshops for ages 15 and up

In this workshop, students will learn to apply basic knowledge
of flower arrangement using a variety of vases. Techniques
will be demonstrated and then tried by the students. Flowers
and materials will be provided for the first class, but bring
your own vase and flowers for the second class. Come celebrate
summer by working with flowers!

PENNYRUGS
AND WOOL APPLIQUE
A six-hour workshop for ages 12 and up

Learn the folk art of making primitive penny rugs to adorn
your home. You
will learn the basics of this art form by making a small tablemat
for your
home. The skills you will learn will be sufficient for extrapolation
to larger
projects in the future.
